Final proof reading
Hi everyone,
Tomo, I can't believe you noticed that I changed the first letter! You should be a teacher! I used to think that it was a good idea to capitalize 'everyone' and treat it as a name, but recently, I have changed my mind. I think you could make an argument for both.
I have just spent another 12 hours or so proof-reading and checking the manuscript for my book. It has been a really hard week, but the worst is over now.
Tomorrow will be the first day for a long time that I haven't had to go to the printing company, so I'm looking forward to taking it a bit easier.
As you know, this is the manuscript for my own book, not the ALC version. I have had lots of people helping me, and I have a few more working on it this weekend, but if any of the people who volunteered to help with the blue book would like to volunteer again, please e-mail me tomorrow. I will send you a free copy of the book when it is ready. The deadline for checking is next Monday evening.
I'm going home now. I'm going to go for a run, and then I'm going to watch the Bourne Supremacy, which I recorded on Wow Wow last weekend. I think I need to just forget about books and manuscripts for a while!
Bye for now,
David
PS Thanks for your feedback on the title. I think that is just one of the ideas that ALC are thinking about, so I will let you know the final title when it is decided.

Hi Kayoko and Yasuha,
Welcome to the blog, and nice to meet you.
Hi green, Qchan and Alice,
I remember you well. Good to see you again!
Hi David and everyone,
As for the new David's book's title, simple and strong impact word is better for a Japanese English Learner, I think, as a few members say.
Qchan says, I'm going to continue my commenting in this David's blog for a long time. Because I believe 'Many a little makes a mickle'.
See you next time,

Hi David,
I am glad to know that your worst was over. We are lucky to be one of volunteers as Tomo said, and it’s really exciting to read the book beforehand, so of course I’ll be one of them if I could!(Tomo, ご指名ありがとうございます^^)
By the way, I was one of them who had been wondering about the change of the letter from ‘E’ to ‘e’. Now I got it, Tomo, thanks for asking!
Tomo, Riko, and Maki,
Thanks for your words. We really enjoyed the stay there.
Riko, reservation was not that difficult including the ticket of ‘なんば花月’.
Hi everyone,
I’m going to UK for three weeks from Oct. 11th, and going to study at a language school
in Cambridgefor two weeks, and then travel around UK for a week.
David, I’m going to book at Bangor and travel around Snowdonia N.P or other places.
I almost finished my preparation concerning with school, hotel booking, tickets and so on. I decided to do everything by myself this time. I got a support of some agency in Cambridge to find a school at the first stage, though. Today I sent a letter to my host family , so I’m a little relieved now.
It’s been my dream, but not this year, someday. Everything is new experience for me. Actually、it’s almost first time to travel abroad, and even taking an airplane, so it must be reckless, and might be dangerous, but anyway the goal is just around the corner.
I’m now excided and nervous about it!

Hi David,
I'm afraid that you will be new enter tonight whether or not! (lol) but I'm no worry Tomo will help us again (^_−)−☆
I'm interested in volunteer to check your free copy of the book. How will show you my address?
Hi Anne,
Sounds like a good to visiting England. Good luck! you will improve your skills. but why did you say your dream came to England was not this year? Do you have another meaning about it?
I have been to Snowdonia Mountain Railway. Unfortunately I couldn't go to the top on mountain even though I got a ticket and waiting for 6hours! I arrived there at 10am. there were already a long queue, the tickets left only for 4pm's. (in this case need 's')? 6hours later I got in the train, but they went back to the station after 10minutes. it was something technical troubles. I waited a long queue for a refund. Are you going to there? According my guide book(my guide book was very old) the train will be closed from middle of October.
Have a nice trip!

Hi David
After reading your comment, I am really happy to help you this time. BUT I read the comment carefully and realized that (I hope my understanding is wrong)
You mean I can’t volunteer to your new book because I didn’t help you before???
I regret that I did not volunteer last time!!! So I think if there is the next chance. I really want to. But…..
Is there any chance to that I help you?

Hi David,
I'm glad to hear that your worst was over. Did you spend a relaxation time last night? You watched the movie "Bourne Supremacy" last night, didn't you? Did you record "Bourne Ultimatum" on Wow Wow, too? I watched all the Bourne's movies at a movie theater. The most excited movie of Bourne's movie is "Bourne Ultimatum", I think.
I wish I could help you, but I'm sorry I can't do it this time because I'm very busy this week. If you need our help again, I want to do it.
Hi Anne,
Your finished your preparation concerning with school, hotel booking, tickets, and you decided to do everything by yourself? That's great! I'm looking forward to hearing the story of your UK's life.

Hi Anne
Are you going to England next month?
Your comment reminds me of my first trip to England. I was originally supposed to study at language school for two weeks and then travel around UK for a week, like you. But it wasn’t good time to travel. The Gulf War broke out. So I changed my plan to study at language school for three weeks, which mean I gave up traveling around UK. Some of you remember the date 18 Feb 1991? The IRA exploded bombs at both Paddington station and Victoria station in London. During that time I was in England. Even though, my first trip to England was great. I hope you will have a great time in there.
Hi Yasuha
Welcome to the blog and nice to meet you too.
You are a university student, and study engineering? That sounds cool!!
But actually I don’t know what kind of study you are doing. Sorry I never been to the university. By the way, I am from Okinawa. You are from Hokkaido, right? I have never been to there. You know? David went to there last month, and he showed us some photos of Hokkaido. It made me think going there someday.

Hi Alice,
You are going to have an entrance examination of university of this year?
How is your schedule full on your plan-note and in your mind, I guess.
I'm not real student now, but I was On The Air University student 14 years ago. So I can realize your full-feeling with 'everything is important thought.'
Speaking my recent days, about learning English, my mind always have occupied with a lot of questions of what is the progressive(better) way to me.
Exactly, I have no examination, but for me, every Saturday-English-class is like a short exam. Because I have to find some atractive story or news, and make a 5-minute-English-sentence. I'm still have been doing this way for my topic preparing.
Anyway, you have backed our blog. It is good way to relax yourself, as Tomo said.

Hi Everyone,
Sorry, I haven't been able to join the blog for a while. I finished reading the manuscript for David's next book yesterday, and it was really interesting! There were a lot of things that I didn't know or wasn't sure in the book. I think you'll learn a lot of things from the book and be able to improve your English.(Of course, you need to practice a lot as well.) I can't wait until it comes out!
Hi Yasuha,
As for your question about the expression ‘Nice to meet you.’, actually, we have talked about it before on the blog. Technically, we don't meet each other in person, but we meet on the Net in a way, so I think it is okay.(but I've never seen David using that expression on the blog.(if my memory is correct) 多分ネイティヴスピーカーなら、『Hi, I'm Tomo.
If the country become safe, I encourage you will go there. この文ですが、You should go there. の方が自然かな、と思います。(should を使っても失礼な響きにはならないので大丈夫です^^)
Hi Riko,(Sorry I couldn't reply you sooner.)
The story of your son's friend is funny and interesting. As you say, if it happens to Japanese children, they would say 'All right.', but my 4-year-old daughter will say ‘No’ when she wants me to feel sorry for her.
Maki - 出張、お疲れさま~^^ 横浜はどうでしたか?
Kiyoko - What do you mean by 'Many a little makes a mickle(←miracle?)'? I didn't understand this sentence, sorry.
Anne - Good luck with your studies in the UK, and I hope you have a wonderful time there. お土産話を楽しみにしてますね~!

Hi everyone,
How was your weekend? My days were ‘work, eat, sleep’(just joking!!)
I volunteered checking the manuscripts for David’s new book.
I enjoyed the process of reading and checking, and it was really fun.
Each items and explanations is specific and is helpful to improve our English as Tomo said.
Surprisingly, it covers a lot of items.
I can’t wait for the day.
Everyone, thanks for your words about my travel to the UK.
Riko, I’ve been taking care of my mother-in-law, and then my father-in-lay at home for these eight years and could not be away from my house, but he passed away this June, and now I can afford to be away from my house. His death was a sudden thing.
amo, yes, I remember Gulf war or those days. Anyway, I’m glad to know you enjoyed staying there.

Hi David and everyone,
It's sooo comfortable day, isn't it? Autumn has come in blue sky, the songs of insects, the temperature of night time and the fallen leaves.
David,
I'm happy to have this English blog site since January. My comment time is not many but I try to read your entries. Then I can study a lot of new phrases.
You are making a final stage of your new book, I know. I'm expecting one!!
Tomo,
I picked 'Many a little makes a mickle', up for to mean 塵も積もれば.
After your pointing, I rechecked my dictionary carefully, and I have noticed my choice was wrong. As another saying, there were 'Every little makes a mickle'. Besides the wrong saying was first position, also they were combined with '='. Then I jumped to a conclusion without deep reading.
Anyway, my choice was just miracle. ha, ha, ha.
By the way, you are so great, as David says. You should be a teacher, I think so, too.
Anne,
Your mother-in-law passed away this June (I'm sorry), but you can afford to do for yourself now. You're going to UK for study English at language school in there. Sounds great!! Have a good learning and take care.

Hiya! Quick question that's entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My weblog looks weird when browsing from my iphone 4. I'm trying to find a theme or plugin that might be able to correct this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. Many thanks!

Hi David,
Thanks for answering my question! I see, that's why you changed the first letter. I've been wondering about that. When I first saw it, I thought that you might forget to capitalize 'everyone', but you've been writing it in that way, so I thought that there was some reason. I'm glad I asked.
About the manuscript for your own book, of course I'll be one of the volunteers. I think the volunteers are very lucky because they can read the new book before it is published.(Anne, I hope you can help.)
By the way, have any of you noticed that we've got a newcomer called Yashua? She(I think 'she'.) posted her first comment on the last entry, so let me copy and paste it here.
『Hi David and everyone!
Nice to meet you.(In blog, Can I use 'meet'?)
Please call me Yasuha.
Hi ikura,
I went to Thailand from 23 to 30 Aug.
I don't know these ploblem in Thailand until I came back Japan.During the trip I didn't have any danger, but I saw a demonstration in bangkok.(デモ行進って'demonstration'で良いんですか?不適切だったらごめんなさい>Hi David,

Riko also posted her comment on the last entry. Here it is again for those of you(David!) who missed it.
『Hi David,
Did you decide your new book title yet? I hope that our opinion will be reflected in your book. Good luck!
As everyone mentioned about 翻訳ソフトare rubbish. I prefer 英辞郎 on the web free of them.
受験生のAlice,
Nice to meet you. you might get stress until finish your exam. Yeah as Tomo said, you can take a relax in this blogs.
Anne,
Sounds you had an enjoyable holiday with your family hadn't you? Did you get the tickets easily? Can be possible to get it on the day?
Ikura,
Bad luck! but you should guard your live. You will have another change.
I brought my son and his friend Owen to a play area in the MacDonald's. I mentioned about my sons friend before. he was really cute boy. they played at there, but sometimes Owen bumped his head and started crying. In this case if I ask for Japanese children 'Are you all right?' maybe they said' All right.' but he said 'No!'. I brought him without his mum. so I was able to do just cuddle him. I told this story about my friends. Japanese friends agree with me. but English person said 'to complain to the manager.' These play area get less recently. I complain if the places get less , but I complain if children get hurt.
What do you think?
Riko』
I'm getting sleepy.. See you all tomorrow,
Tomo
