Noripi - Corrections
Hi team,
Thanks for all your comments about Noripi. I agree that it must be terrible for her child, and I think there is no doubt at all that she would have been better off marrying me. Oh well, it's too late now.
Hi Pink NY - it's great to have you back with us, and nice to know that you still check the blog from time to time. Nice to hear from Lily as well.
I want to tell you about something really strange that happened to me last night. It has happened once before, but last night it was much, much worse than before.
I usually go running around 10.30 every evening (well, about four times a week), and I always follow the same route. Last night, I was fine for most of the run, but in the last two kilometres, my body started to get really itchy - even my hands and my head. When I got home, I went into the bathroom, took off my shirt and looked in the mirror. I couldn't believe what I saw! My whole body was covered with white lumps. It looked as if I had been stung by hundreds of bees. There were lumps on my head, on my legs, on my feet, and all over my chest and back. If you had seen me, you would have said "kimochi warui!" I wasn't too worried about this because it happened once before, and I was fine after I took a shower. Last night was worse, but I felt better after the shower, and when I woke up this morning, I was back to normal.
I have no idea what causes this, but I guess it must be an allergy to something. The strange thing is that I follow the same route every night, and usually there is no problem, so why only these two times? Is it because some plant that I am allergic to is flowering? It's a mystery!
Anyway, here is my feedback on your comments.
I'm fed up with the gossip of drug users of celebrities (I'm fed up with the gossip about drug-taking celebrities) ('fed up with' is a very useful expression.)
I was also very surprised to see that Sakai Noriko had been arrested for drug use. (Nice use of the past perfect tense.)
you can access to the Internet (you can access the Internet)
You must be a shocked when you've heard this news. (You must have been shocked when you heard the news.)
Tomo said totally the same with what I thought. (Tomo said what I was thinking.) (By the way, if you are talking to someone and they say what you were about to say, you can use this expression - 'You took the words right out of my mouth.' This is also the title of a great song by Meatloaf, if you are old enough to remember him!)
I think that a lot of people worried about her suicide (I think a lot of people were worried that she was going to commit suicide.) ('Suicide' is usually used with the verb 'commit'.)
Maybe she would have been better off marrying you, David.;-) (This is a good sentence, and it's also factually correct!)
if someone forced her to stop using drug, she would have kept doing it. (unless someone forced her to stop using drugs, she would have kept doing it.)
I guess it might be the tip of the iceberg. (This is nice. Do you all know this expression?)
The news came as a bit of shock (惜しい!The news came as a bit of a shock.)
Have a great weekend, and see you on Monday.
David
PS Have a look at this story from a British newspaper. It made me smile.

Hi David ,
Sorry for what happened to you last night.
As Maki said, it could cause a severe allegic reaction, so take good care!
Thank you for your feedback.
>'You took the words right out of my mouth.' →I didn't know this expression, either.
Maki took the words right out of my mouth, but what reminds me of when I heard this is "ミートローフ" , the name of the dish....
Anyway, I know the name of the musical"Hair" or " Rocky Horror Picture Show" ; he played in both of them, though.
I had a look at an article in BBC.
What a coincidence! What a timing!
The gopher is lovely, and I liked this picture^^)

Thanks! I had a look at the logo, and it's interesting.
>Tomo,
The weather is fine today, so I'm sure you have a great time watching the beautiful stars.
Hope you have a lovely time there!
Everyone,have a nice weekend!
See you soon,

David:
Sorry to hear about your skin problem.
>> I was fine after I took a shower. Last night was worse, but I felt better after the shower, and when I woke up this morning, I was back to normal. <<
I've googled. Hope this might help.
Cholinergic or heat urticaria is a form of chronic hives that is caused by an increase in body temperature. It is not completely known why cholinergic urticaria occurs, although some of these people appear to have an allergy to their own sweat. (allergies.about.com)

Thank you Ash! That might be the cause, because it was very hot last night. I hope I am not allergic to my own sweat - that would make life very difficult! Anyway, I will do some research on this.
- David
- 2009年8月14日 21:38
Hmm, I had a look at one site, but it says that "The hives in cholinergic urticaria are classically pin-point in size, less than the size of a mosquito bite." The lumps on my body were huge - at least one or two centimetres across. Anyway, I will keep reading about this. Thanks for the tip.

Hi David,
I'm sorry to hear your skin problem.
I'm not sure but I've heard some news in Hokkaido area that some of moth are large developed.
(北海道の地域で蛾が大量発生しているというニュースを耳にしました。)
I'm not sure exactly whether the news connected to your skin problem or not.
But, when I heard the news it came to my mind.
Please take what I said into considerations.
Take care, David.

Hi David
I am sorry to hear about your skin, but I relieved that you were back to normal when you woke up the next morning.
Thank you for your corrections.
>'You took the words right out of my mouth.' This is also the title of a great song by Meatloaf, if you are old enough to remember him!
I know this expression I sometimes hear this phrase from TV dramas. By the way I know Meatloaf by name, so I do not know much about his songs. I might know some songs without knowing his.
>The news came as a bit of shock #惜しい!The news came as a bit of a shock.#
I just wanted to add “a bit of” in “The news came as a shock”, but I still need “a” before “shock” I should be more careful when I make these sentences from now on.
I had a look at the story from the newspaper that you mentioned. It’s interesting and the gopher is sooo cute and photogenic.
Hi Tomo
I bet you are having fun with your family in Nagano.
Hi everyone
How do you spend your weekend?
It seems that there is a fireworks exhibition near my house, because I could hear the sounds of fireworks but I could not see it from my house.
Talk to you soon

Hi team,
How was your day? It's ‘obon’, so I went to my husband's father's house and visited my husband's mother's grave today.
Kazu, Anne, Amo, thanks for your comments! We had a great time there, but I told a lie about where we were, sorry. I thought I was in Nagano, but it was not Nagano but Yamanashi.(We were in Kiyosato, near Yatsugatake.) Anyway, the stars were amazing. We could see the Milky Way clearly, and I saw two shooting stars!
David, thanks again for your feedback.
<you can access to the Internet (you can access the Internet)
I knew you don't need 'to' in this case.. Why did I put it? I don't know, but it might be because I wrote it after reading this sentence 'I will have access to the Internet wherever I go'.
1. You can access the Internet.
2. You have access to the Internet.
In No.1 example, 'access' is used as a verb(transitive verb), and you don't need 'to'. In No.2 example, 'access' is used as a noun, and you need 'to', right?
<You took the words right out of my mouth.
<tip of the iceberg
I didn't know these expressions.
By the way, when I read your story, I thought it was じんましん. My son got hives because of an allergy to a specific food when he was little. It was eggs, but his allergy is gone now. My sister has a lot of allergies, such as dust, pollen, chemicals, cats and some other animals except dogs, and fish. She has also got hives several times, and she did a patch test at the skin doctor and found out what allergies she had. I think it might be a good idea for you to try it. Anyway, I hope your allergy gets better.
See you soon,
Tomo
PS I checked the article you mentioned. The picture was really lovely! It made me smile as well:)

Hi Tomo,
I'm glad to hear your good story.
Your husband's father must be excited.
As you mentioned, all of Japan are in the middle of Obon now.
I think each family is having a good time with their family.
My sister's family has been visiting to my family with two daughters.
Their acting are more or less socialized so when I saw their act I was glad but also I felt miss.
(彼らは以前にまして大人びた振る舞いをするようになっていて私は彼らの成長を見てなんだか嬉しい気持ちになりました。その反面、よそよそしい態度が少し寂しくもありました。(^_^;)
They are having a good time with their grandfather.
I hope all of you will be a good time.

Hi everyone,
I'm going to go abroad.
This is the first sightseeing in Guam on my life.
Everything is new to me, so I'm a little bit nervous but also it is fun to me.
This plan has decided quickly but everything is going well so far.
It might be high cost because of the sightseeing of one person but it can't make it.
Everything is practice for me.
I've heard there are many people who are Japanese in Guam so there is no chance to use English but I want to use English as much as possible to native speaker and I'll have fun.

Hi David
This is my first comment.
Nonetheless I will write a little dirty story.
I'm sorry if you and your team offended.
I have a younger relative and he often acts silly.
One night, he was drunk.
On his way home, he couldn't resist the call of nature and he discharged u×××× forward the bush.
At the exact moment, he got intense itchy around his lower abdomen.
He was laughed by everyone but he suffered for a few days.
The cause is a kind of caterpillar, チャドクガ.
It flies the venomous coat when you approach it.
This might not be the same as your case, because you were back to normal the next day.
Whether it is チャドクガ or not, maybe you ought not to approach trees or bushes.

Hi!
I wrote my comment about half an hour ago, and before proceeding 'Preview', all disappered!! 涙
Of course, I don't have any copy of it...
Hi David,
Sorry to hear what happened to you, but I also have no idea... As you said, you might have some allergy. Allergic symptom is sometimes getting worse with its repeated, so please take care and it's maybe better to go to hospital if it happens next time.
Thank you for your feedback! It's always very helpful for us.
*Tomo said totally the same with what I thought. (Tomo said what I was thinking.)
⇒「全く同じこと」を強調したかったのですが・・・撃沈!笑
*'You took the words right out of my mouth.'
⇒It's new to me. I don't know Meatloaf, though I might be old enough. Is it a group?
*I think that a lot of people worried about her suicide (I think a lot of people were worried that she was going to commit suicide.)
⇒I noticed that I had forgot to write 'were', but I don't know 'suicide' is usually used with the verb 'commit'.
*I guess it might be the tip of the iceberg.
⇒I know the expression, but it's one of expressions which I can't use properly.
I had a look at the story from the newspaper. It's really nice! I like that very much! The gopher is so cute!! Thanks for sharing it! (Woops, there are too many '!'!)
Hi amo,
I had a look at the Google logo. It's nice and interesting! Thanks!;-)
