Back from London

Hi team,

I'm back in Wales now. I got back from London at 2 o'clock last night, and I slept until 11 o'clock this morning. I'm going to spend the weekend relaxing at my parents' house. I had a great time in London, but I ended up walking a lot every day, so I'm a bit tired now.

I have uploaded a few photos that I took while I was in London. Here is one that I took of the Houses of Parliament at night:

IMGP1805

In London, I spent most of my time just walking around sight-seeing, but as I told you, I also went to see the musical "We Will Rock You." The problem with London's West End is that there are so many great musicals, it's difficult to decide what to see. I decided to go to this one because I am a huge fan of Queen, and I also really like Ben Elton, the guy who wrote the script. Anyway, it turned out to be a great decision because it was an amazing production. The voices of the singers were incredible, and the whole thing was quite moving because, as you know, Freddie Mercury is no longer with us. I was luck enough to see Queen at Knebworth Park in England when I was still in high school, and there was a tear in my eye when the star of "We Will Rock You" started singing with the crowd like Freddie used to do. Actually, the song "We Will Rock You" was the best part of the show. The story was about a future world in which young people are not allowed to make music anymore, and the heroes were trying to find an electric guitar that had been hidden like lost treasure. When they couldn't find it, the Freddie character said, "We can make our music without guitars," and he stamped his feet and clapped his hands to produce the BOOM BOOM CHISH! rhythm of "We Will Rock You." Of course, all of the audience joined in straight away and sang along with him, so it felt a bit like being at the concert.

While I was in London, I also went to the National Gallery and the British Museum. I like looking at the Impressionist paintings at the Gallery, especially the Van Goghs and the Monets. I also saw the real painting of the poster by Seurat that I have hanging above my bed. At the British Museum, I spent a couple of hours looking at the Egyptian exhibits, and also a really interesting collection that showed the history of clocks. If you have never been, I hope you have a chance to go someday.

I also took a walk around Knightsbridge, and I had a look in the windows of a few estate agents. There was one really nice house I spotted, but it was a bit expensive: the price tag was 23,600,000 pounds! I've just checked that on a currency converter, and it comes to 3,136,594,146.58 yen! The house had its own swimming pool and, of course, "staff accommodation." It's scary to think that there are people in this world who have so much money.

Before I went to London, I went for a walk up Moel Famau, which is a mountain near my house. "Moel" means "mountain," and "Famau" means "mother." It's not a very high mountain, and you can walk up it in about 25 minutes from the car park, but there are fantastic views from the top. Here is a picture of the trail up.

IMGP1786

The building is the remains of an old fort that was built up there many years ago.You can also walk along the top of the mountain range with amazing scenery on both sides.

Anyway, I'm going to spend the rest of today relaxing, reading, and maybe going for a run.

Hope the heat is not too bad in Japan.

Bye for now,

David

Hi David,

Thank you for sharing us some pictures. Your story (and pictures) of London reminds me of my first trip to England. I have been to the places where you’ve been to, except “West End.” I like to visit galleries and museums. I want to go UK and visit them again.
I like Queen, too so I really should see it. You seem to be tired today so take some rest.

Hi everyone,

How was your day? Hope you had a nice day.

good night and sweet dreams,
amo

Hi David,
Thank you for the interesting stories and lovely photos.
I understand you had a great time in London.

The pictures of House Of Parliament and Big Ben with the bridge are gorgeous.

Your description of "We'll Rock You" is so vivid and clear that I can easily follow the story although I've never heard of the musical.
I could almost hear the roar of the audience "Boom Boom Chish"
You were happy to see the musical that relate with your favorite singer Queen.
The musical reminds you good old memory.

You saw the original painting of the poster above your bed.
That's great.
Sphinx must be spectacular.

>It's scary to think that there are people in this world who have so much money.
I can't agree with you more.

Walking up and down along the amazing scenery covered with pink flowers must be so soothing.
The pictures of Moel Famau are so lovely.

Hope you have a relaxing time at your parent's house.
BTY, we are still suffering severe heat.
Take care.

Fumie

Hi David,

Thank you for uploadind two photos.
Both of them are beautiful!

I understand your feeling well when you see the musical 'We will rock you'.
I often empathize with the hero and heroine when I see some misicais at the thater.
Take rest and have a nice day!

Green

David,

I'm sorry I didn't notice you've upluded many photos.
I watched them a litte while ago and they are cool and nice!
They remind me that I went to Lomdon about 20years ago.

Green

Hi Green,

Thanks for your comment. I was wondering, which of these did you mean?

1. They remind me that I went to London about 20 years ago. (行ったことを忘れていたけど、写真を見て、思い出しました。)
2. They remind me of the time I went to London about 20 years ago. (写真を見て、ロンドンに行ったときを思い出す。)

I'm guessing that it is the second one. Is that right?

Hi everyone,

David's photos are very nice. They make me want to go to G.B sometime.

Hi anony,
I'm so sorry to post a belated comment and thank you for your advice.
I understand the meaning of the sentence but I've never found a good translation yet.
However, that's ok becasue we can undersatnd the story without the sentence.

A new week begins.
We have to work hard. I hope it will become a little cooler than the last week.

See ya,

Hi David,

You're right!
I meant the second one.
Thank your for your correction.
I would like to wright more but I'm in my office now and have to start working.
By for now

Green

Hi David

You had lots of fun:)
The picture reminds me of my London trip.I miss London!
You went to the British museum?
I also went there this spring,it was amazing!
I want to go there again.
I heard that there is a huge library in the British museum, but I didn't see it.
Did you see the library??

I'm glad to read your story!
It's still hot in Osaka.I can't feel autumn.

Hi Taco

You also watched TV program of Koichi!
As Green said,it's difficult to get a ticket.
I belong to his fun club,but I couldn't get it.That's a shame.
But I want to see 'SHOCK' some day.
I'm looking forward to seeing DVD:)

Hi Fumie

You had a great time!Sounds nice.
Kamikouchi is cooler than Osaka? It's sooo nice!
We need to escape the heat.
Thank you for telling your story.

Nao

Thank you for showing photos,David:)

The lake at Loch Oichi,Scotland were awesome!!
They look like mirrors!

Hi Green. I thought that`s what you meant. "Remind" is a tricky verb to use.

Hi Nao. I didn't go to the library. Actually, I didn't know they had one!

Hi Chiyo. It really was beautiful because there was no wind at all. When I saw it again the next day, though, it looked completely different.

Hi Nao,

大阪公演当落確認、始まりました!!
Please check your tickets soon!

Green

Hi David,

Thank you for your advice.
I tried to make your Big ben photo my PC desk top in my office but I couldn't...
I like your Big Ben photo.

Hi Nao,

How are your tickets?
Do you know you can listen Koichi new album just a few on Johnny's Entertainment HP.
Please chack it!

Green

Hi everyone,

How was your weekend? I was in a good mood this weekend. Konan high school won the summer high school baseball tournament. To tell the truth, I do not like baseball at all, but it’s different. I was so excited when I was watching the final game. Some of you may know they also won the spring tournament. I am so happy for them ;-)

Hi David,

How have you been doing? It seems that you are just chilling :-)
It was another hot day today here, so you should better stay there another couple of weeks. I know this won’t last forever but…. It’s killing me :-(

take care,
amo

Hi amo,

Congratulations amo and Konan high shool on win of the baseball team!
My daghter is going to Okinawa for school trip in December.
She is looking foward to visiting Okinawa!
Koichi is going to hold his solo concert in Okinawa soon!
It' very hot today, too but have a nice day!

Green

Hi David

You'll see the picture of the British museum's library!
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/大英博物館図書室
How?
I was really sad because I didn't see it.I think the library is so beautiful.

Hi Green

I couldn't get a ticket...That's a shame.
(旅行の都合で希望をひとつしかだしていなかったのがよくなかったようです。。)
I'm so sad.I'll ask my friend if she gets spare ticket.

Thank you for telling new information!!
That's so nice!
I'll check soon:)

Hi amo

Konan was very strong! They played very well:)

Nao

Hi David and everyone,

It is so nice you are young enough to keep the blog lively. Me? Sadly, I have no energy to write something these days. I used to like summer, but this summer...I cannot concentrate on anything and soon get very sleepy(zzz...). I'm just waiting for cool weather.

> David, your photos and travel jounals made me trully envious. You are not hot at all.:)

> amo, the team Hotoku from Hyogo pref. did well too, but the team Konan was super !!! Congratulations!

> Carrie, sorry for late reply, but I was glad to know you finally wore yukata. Not me yet.

> Green and Nao, your talking about Koichi made me watch the NHK program same as taco did. My husband happened to see it together. Surprisingly, he said he wanted to see the show live. I told him it'd be impossible to get the ticket.;)

> All absentees, how're you doing? Hope everyone is fine. See you as early as possible:)

Bye for now.

tsuneko

Hi tsuneko

I'm happy to hear that you also watched TV program.
Your husband was interested in his stage?
I'm not Koichi,but I'm happy.(なんだか不思議ですが、仲間が増えたようでうれしく思います^^)
Plz say hello to your husband, and plz tell him that his DVD is great.(Of course, the stage is the best.)

I'm also waiting cooler season. It's too hot thease days.
I got heat injury.Be careful!

Nao

Hi Nao,

I'm sorry to hear that you missed the ticket.
I hope you get the Kobe ticket!
神戸も、申し込まれたのですよね?
ぜひぜひ、神戸のチケットをGETできるように、祈っています。

Hi tsuneko,

Yes, we talked about the TV program.
I'm glad to hear thet you and your husband watched it as Nao said.
ジャニーズへのイメージが変わったのでは?
ぜひ今度、帝劇で、ご覧下さいと書きたいのですが、実際のところ、なかなかチケットを取れないのです。

Nao and tsuneko,

Green

Hi David,
Glad to hear you had a great time in London, and thanks for sharing the nice photos. I had a look at all of them. The pictures of Loch Oich are so pretty and the reflections are perfect! I love the two pictures you put on this entry. The first one is fantastic and romantic, and the clock reminds me of "Peter Pan" and "Harry Potter." I'd love to see it myself someday. The second one is amazing. If it's a 25 minute-walk from the car park walk, I'd love to walk up Moel Famau! Is it the mountain you talked about before? You said it has an old fort on the top, and lots of people go up there on New Year's Eve. It sounds nice to go up there on New Year's Eve, but I prefer warm weather to cold weather. Those pink flowers are pretty!

Hi Fumie and Green,
Thanks for your comments on the previous entry.(Sorry for my late reply!)
Fumie, thanks for your kind words. I'm glad you liked the expression and had a wonderful time with your family:)
Green, it sounds like you are very excited about the show. Have fun!

Hi trmr, Chiyo, and Nao,
I went to see "借りぐらしのアリエッティ" with my husband and my kids.(trmr - Yes, I succeeded in convincing my son;-)) After hearing other people's feedback, I tried not to expect too much, but the movie didn't disappoint me at all. The story is not dramatic, but it gave me a nice and warm feeling. I kind of wanted to see what happened next, but I think it ends at the right time. It can't be in my top five of Ghibli movies, but I liked the story, and as always, the pictures and the music were great!(Chiyo - I also think Shou looks like Seiji. They could be twins!(笑) Hope you are having a great time with your family:))

Hi amo,
Yes, Konan won the spring tournament too. They are really good! I'm also happy for them!

Hi tsuneko,
Did you call me?(笑) I didn't have enough energy to write something in English, either.(even to read English...) Anyway, only one more week until my children's summer vacation is over, so I'm looking forward to getting back to my normal life. Take care:)

Hi everyone,
After we got back home from my husband's home town, we went to Okutadami ko in Niigata and took a tour boat there. There is a route called "Okutadami silver line." It's about 22 km, and most of it(about 18 km) are tunnels. The tunnels are not that big and have lots of curves, and the lights are dim. You can also see the rock faces.(Of course, they are covered with concrete, though.) I was a bit scared, so I had to ask my husband, "Does someone check these tunnels regularly? I hope they won't collapse while we are going through!"(笑)
Anyway, it was nice and cool on the mountain and the scenery was lovely, so we had a nice time.

See you soon,

Tomo

Hi David and Everyone,

I just got back from Yokohama. It was really hot there, as all you know.:( It was really tough for me that it was hot outside and it was very cool inside buildings. However it's still hot here as well, though it's much cooler than in Yokohama.

David, Glad that you had a great time in London! I had a look at all the photos. Thanks for sharing them! The photos in London remind me of the lovely time there and I also like Moel Famau ones! At first I thought that the trail was a ski slope. Anyway I'd love to visit the UK again.;-) Have you taken a tour of looking around inside the Houses of Parliament? It was interesting.

Hi Nao and David,

The library in the British Museum is beautiful, as Nao mentioned. I had only an hour before the museum closed when I reached there, because I spent lots of time at the National Gallery, so I decided to look around only the library instead.;-)

Hi tsuneko,

I'm happy to find your comment! Please take good care of yourself. It seems that the hot weather will last for a while...

Hi Tomo,

Happy to hear from you! It sounds that you had a lovely time with your family, though you've been busy.;-)

Bye for now,

Maki

Hi Green, Nao, tsuneko and Tomo,

Thank you for your words. As I mentioned, I am not interested in baseball at all, but I watch high school tournament (only Okinawan team though) and am always on the edge of my seat.

Green> Your daughter is going to Okinawa in December? That’s great!! Hope she will like Okinawa, and have a good time.

Nao> I am sorry that you couldn’t get the ticket. Hope your friend gets one for you!

tsuneko> Happy to see your comment again ;-) I thought I am used to hot weather but this summer? It is unbearable :-( I don’t like air conditioning if I use it for a long time I feel sick but if I don’t use it I get a headache and don’t want to do anything. Either way, I would be dead!!!

Hi Maki,

>Have you taken a tour of looking around inside the Houses of Parliament? It was interesting.
If so, I’d like to take a tour of it next time :-)

Speak to soon,
amo

Hello Everyone
I thought it was about time I posted on this blog as I have been following it for some time!

I am an old school friend of David's and although we both moved away from our home town quite a few years ago, we have been lucky enough this summer to be back there at the same time. We met up last night and it was great to see him again.

I last saw David around 15 years ago but once we started chatting it seemed like yesterday. We were very good friends at school (although I think in our early years we didn't like each other very much!) and he hasn't changed at all.

I am actually quite nervous writing this just in case there are errors in my English - even native speakers can get lazy at times and make mistakes! I must admit though that everyone's English here is very good, and over the years you have all improved tremendously. Tomo - your English is so good it is hard to tell that it is not your first language. I can say the same for many of you here too.

Anyway, I have now revealed myself as a secret blog reader and would be more than happy to contribute from time to time. I feel I know you all already!

Happy blogging!
Sue

Hello Sue,
Welcome former secret reader !
I am (I believe "we are") really happy to have a native English speaker here.

Thanks to David's tough, persistent and kind guidance, our English (exept mine, I am not a good learner) have been improved well and we always enjoy tremendous support from the members here.

Anyway, I hope we hear from you more often and then, please provide a lot of funny old stories of David.

Hi Tomo,
I would really like to say to you "Congratulations !"
Your English is now perfect as a result of your hard study and passion as Sue mentioned.
Your achievement as an excellent speaker as well as a good mother, wife and woman, made me really excited. Thank you.

Hi everyone,
How are you doing ?
It's been almost a year since I came to the US. It's getting cooler here in DC.
Last night, I went to see a live performance after work. It was 'Tears for Fears'. I hope some of you have heard about them. They are from UK and known as one of the most popular bands of 80's !

Cool autumn and my birthday coming soon ! Bye.

Hi Sue,
Welcome to the blog.
You had been a secret reader of this blog.
Your comment that even native speakers sometime make mistakes give me courage to write English even though mine is still a long way to go.
You said you moved away from your home town.
Where do you live now? in UK or any other country?
Have you ever came to Japan?
Looking forward hearing from you again about yourself and old stories.

Hi regulars or 先輩,
I'm happy to see your comments again after the Obon holiday.
Some of you said you had a wonderful time at where you had went.
That's nice!

Hi Tsuneko,
I know what you mean.
This consecutive hot weather derive all my energy.
Most of us who were born in Syowa era aren't accustomed to this too hot temperature.

Fumie

Hi Sue

Welcome to this blog!Looking forward to your next comment:)

Hi Green

Thank you!I also hope you'll get the Kobe ticket.

You watched the last stage of 'SHOCK'?You're so lucky!!!
When I heard his speech(終わらせないようにしてやろう) onTV,I felt he was sooo cute.
I feel he is cute again because I read your story.Thank you for telling such a nice story!

I think you're really lucky,so you will be able to get the ticket!!
後は願うばかりですね。

Hi Tomo

You went to see 借りぐらしのアリエッティ?Sounds good.
I also felt the picture and music was wonderful.
Last music made me happy.

I'm happy to hear that you had a great time.

Nao

Hi Sue,

Welcome and it's very nice to know you!
You and David have known each other since you were students?
How nice!
My English is poor but I would like study English more and more.

Hi Tomo,

You were very busy at your husbsnd's house, weren't you?
I'm glad thet you had a great time with your family after that.
Have your children's schools started?

Hi Nao,

I already used my all good luck of my whole life,so I think I never get tickets of nice seats.
I'm going to feel happy even stay at the concert hall.

Green

Hi Maki

You have been to the Britsh museum's library?
That's so cool!I'm so jealous.
If I get a chance to visit London,I want to go to see the library.
I also missed the National Gallery. The National Gallery had closed when I arrived there.I was really sad.

Hi amo

Thank you for your kind comment!

Nao

Hi Green

No way!I'm sure you'll get a good seat:)
And I'll also feel happy if I I just stay at the hall.

Nao

Hi Sue,
Welcome to the blog! It's lovely to have you with us. And thank you for your kind words about my English. You made my day! I kind of lost my motivation last week(I often lose it these days...), but you motivated me a lot. Also, your words "even native speakers can get lazy at times and make mistakes!" made me feel relaxed. To keep and improve my English, I need to keep studying and practicing, but I should take it easy. Thanks:)
By the way, you met David for the first time in 15 years? That's nice! I'm glad you had a great time with him. I enjoyed reading your first post, and I learned some expressions from your writing. Please joing us again whenever you feel like it. I'm looking forward to reading your comments!

Hi Maki,
Thanks! It sounds like you had a hard time in Yokohama. The indoor-outdoor temperature difference must have been tough for you. Have a good rest this weekend:)

Hi Appoh,
Thank you! I'm really happy to read Sue's message, and your nice words made me happy too! I'm flattered.(They are too nice! lol)
By the way, when was your birthday again? I knew it was coming soon, but I couldn't remember the exact date.(I'm so sorry!) Please tell us your birthday so that we can wish you a happy birthday:)

Hi Fumie,
You are already one of the regulars;-)

Hi Nao,
Thanks for your comment. By the way, I checked the site you posted. Yes, it's so beautiful!!

Hi Green,
No, my children's schools haven't started yet. My oldest son's school will start on 27th(though he hasn't finished his homework yet!), and my middle son and my daughter will be back to school on September 1st. Has your daughter been back to school already?

Have a good day, everyone!

Tomo

PS amo, take care. Please don't die!(笑)

Hello, David!Nice to meet you!
I'm writing the comment on this blog for a first time.
I'm worried that my English can be understood by you...

I'm a college student in Japan and I'm going to stay at Ireland for study abroad from 29/8.
So, when I study by using computer, I happen to find this blog!
I'm glad to find it:)

I had a lot of fan to read your post!
Because I love music, I'm interested in the musical "We Will Rock You".
All-standing and singing seems sooooooooooo excited for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just imaging it makes me moving.
In Ireland, I want to go to musical many times!

I'm looking forward to new post;)
bye!

Hi Sue,

It is so nice to have you with us. As Appoh mentioned, I am happy to read a comment of native speaker here. Hope I could see your comment more often. By the way, you last saw David around 15 years ago?? That’s great and I am happy for you had a good time with him. Looking forward to your next comment and thanks again your interesting story.

Hi Appoh,

You went to see “Tears for Fears”? Of course I’ve heard of them, or perhaps I should say, I was a huge fan of them. I used to listen to them when I was in school (I still listen to them often) so I am jealous that you saw them!! To tell the truth, I am a bit surprised that they are still alive and kicking :-D
Your birthday is coming soon? It’s a bit early to say but “Happy birthday and have a nice day”

Hi Tomo,

>take care. Please don't die!(笑)
Surviving, thanks a lot ;-)

Hi Minami,

Welcome to the blog, nice to have with us. Are you going to Ireland this weekend? That’ nice! How long are you going to stay there? I have never been to Ireland, but I’d like to go there sometime in the near future.

talk to soon,
amo

Hi Minami,
Nice to have you with us. I'm sure you will have a great time in Ireland.

I'm in Nottingham at the moment. I'm staying with Andrew, one of my university friends. Actually, I'm writing this on his iPad. It's really easy to use. We went to see Sylvester Stallone's new film "The Expendables" this afternoon. It was absolutely terrible! They used that technique of shaking the camera to convey a sense of action, but they used it so much that we spent most of the time having no idea what was going on. It made me feel seasick!

I'm staying with Andrew tonight, and then I'm driving back to Wales tomorrow.

Bye for now.

Hi Tomo

I'm glad to hear that you also like the picture of the library:)
(実は昨日、違う図書館の写真とともにコメントを返信したんですがそれがどうやらセキュリティにひっかかったようです;)

I think there are a lot of beautiful libraries in Europe!

Hi Minami

Welcome to this blog!
You're going to Ireland?Sounds great.
I hope you'll have lots of fun.

Hi David

Hope you'll have a lovely time wiht Andrew!

Nao

Hi David,
Thanks for your beautiful pictures. How is Nottingham? You wrote your comment on Andrew's ipad? Actually, I have not seen ipad yet. It's easy to use? I'm interested in it, but I'm 機械オンチ....

Hi Sue and Minami,
Nice to meet you!

Hi Green and Nao,
I watched the TV program of 堂本光一. It was very interesting! I sympathize with his way of thinking to take a stage. I got stimulated from him.

Hi Appoh,
When is your birthday? I hope you will have a wonderful day on that day.

Hi everyone,
The other day, I had a concert. It was very tough to keep my good condition because it is intense heat this summer. But I could do good performance, so I was happy. Yseterday, I went to a hot spring with my friend. The food was good, so I ate too much. I don't know why I have a big appetite in spite of a heat wave! I'm afraid of coming of autumn because it is a season of the palate!

Amica

Hi David,

You met your university friend Andrew?
How nice that you have many old friends.
Have a good time with Andrew.

Hi Tomo,

My daghter will back to school on Sep 2nd.
Some of a disaster drill day events around her school on Sep 1st.
関東大震災 was happend Sep 1st as you know.
BTW she haven't finished her homework yet, neither.

Hi Minami,

It's noce to have you with us.
You study abroad?
Lucky you!
My dream was study abrode when I was young.
Good luck and send message from Ireland!

Green

Hi Amica

You also watched TV program of Koichi!
I'm surprised because many members watched it.
I'm happy you also enjoyed the program.
He is a really 'WOW' performer:)

BTW,you did good performance?That's great!
You're also a good performer.

Nao

Hi Minami,
Nice to have you with us. Have a wonderful time in Ireland!!

Hi David,
Sorry to hear that you got seasick in the theater. I hope you are feeling better. Are you going back to Wales today? Have a nice and safe drive!

Hi Nao,
Your comment was rejected yesterday? That's too bad, but thanks for the thought. I'd love to go to Europe and see lots of beautiful old buildings someday!

Hi Amica,
Congratulations on your concert! Yes, autumn is the best sesason for eating, reading, and a lot of other things. Let's enjoy!

Hi Green,
Your daughter hasn't finished her homework yet, either? It seems like there are a lot of students who are busy doing their homework now. lol

See you soon,

Hi David,

I'm glad to know you are having a great time with your family and friends.
Thanks for showing us beautiful photos. Walking to the top of the mountain on new years eve sounds nice. By the way, "Moel Famau" means " Mount Mother", right? When I visited Wales, I saw every sings at the stations or on the streets were written in both Welsh and English. I'm wondering if you learn Welsh at school as a second language or not and how many hours a week did you learn.
I saw a lot of stone old fortresses there.

Hello Sue,
Nice to have you with us and thank you for leaving a comment. It's good for both of you to meet each other for the first time in 15 years.
>he hasn't changed at all? Well...I see! Looking forward to hearing from again when you have time.

Hi Minami,

Welcome to the blog!
You are flying to Ireland this weekend, aren’t you? Hope you have a great time there. By the way, how long are you staying there?

>amo,
Congratulations on the victory! Konan's players were great!
>Nao and Green, I watched the TV program, too. When I saw TV schedule in the newspaper, both of your names first came to mind,haha...

>Tomo,Fumie and mothers,
A few more days for you guys to get back to a bit calm life!

>Maki,
Did you go to the library? That's great! Actually, I stayed at the National Gallery the whole afternoon, but I didn't know they had one. It's a shame to miss it!
Nao,thanks for showing us the picture. It's magnificent, isn't it?

>tsuneko,

>I have no energy to write something these days.→Me neither.
By the way, when I read your comment,” you are not hot.", I know it’s stupid of me and I know what you meant but ," Well...putting aside, he is hot or not..." what came to my mind first was" attractive, sexy or cool",haha... It's tricky, isn’t it? Actually, 'hot' can be used in many ways and there are sometimes dual meanings"暑い”and "セクシー。”
Which meaning do you like? Sorry, it's really stupid...暑さに免じてお許しあれ!

>Amica,
Congratulations on your successful concert! "hot spring”,” good appetite" うん、Amicaらしい! I'm happy for you .

Hi everyone,
This summer's incredibly hot weather seems to have got me down same as tsuneko. I couldn't concentrate on anything and have been just lazy. I felt like I wanted to be in hibernation even though it's not winter. Do you have any recommendations to stop this sort of feeling? What do you you to recharge your battery if you were in such a situation? What should I do? Just wait? Even in such a situation, I gained weight..(sigh..)
Anyway, it's time to stop whimpering about the weather.

Bye for now,

Anne

Hi Nao,

光ちゃんsolo concert 後半日程の当落確認始まっています。
神戸、取れませんでした。
横アリも、3公演しか取れませんでした・・・(泣)
横アリラスト、取れませんでした。涙・・・

Green

Hi everyone,
Tonight I saw the full moon.
And it's so shining and brighten the sky up.
Do you remember that David told the moon looks the same all over the world?
So you can all see the full moon tonight.
And even David who is in Britain can see the same moon following night, right?
This terrible hot weather make us crazy but we can enjoy the beautiful sky also because of not so much rain.
If we have Summer Time hear in Japan which David
had brought up hear before, we could spend the hot summer more effectively.
For me if I start the day 1hour earlier I feel like I can have extra hour.( 1時間早くに起きたら1時間、とくした気分になります)
Does my thought make sense?
I don't know much about Summer Time, but I agree with having Summer time here.
What do you think? Do you agree or disagree about having summer time ?

Fumie

Anne> I prefer the other meaning to "hot" :P Thanks for letting me know about that. It was new to me. I laughed a lot.

Fumie> As for summer time, I'd like to give it a try, I'm not an early riser, though. Besides, they say, "Early to bed, early to rise, makes you healthy, wealthy and wise."

Nao and Green> Your message was given to him. He said he liked everybody including Koichi playing very hard on the stage, particular in, Koichi's falling down to the ground from the top of the long stairs himself, flying over the audiences, and doing "chambara".
> 横アリも、3公演しか取れませんでした・・・(泣)
Green, you meant 3 times only? Umm, you're a real huge fan of him!

> Sue and Minami,
It's nice to meet you. Look forward to your next post.

Hello Sue,

Glad to have you with us! Thanks for leaving your comment. It's good for both of you to enjoy chatting together without feeling the passage of time. Hope you will join us again when you have time.:-)

Hi Minami,

Welcome to the blog! Are you going to Ireland this weekend? That's nice! I'd like to visit there sometime. Have a great time!

Hi Anne,

Happy to find your comment! I went to the library in The British Museum, not at the National Gallery.
Did you look around it in the museum?

It's time to sleep. Good night!

Maki

Hi Anne,
Thanks:) Two more days until their school starts, and three more days until the school lunch starts. I can't wait! lol
By the way, the discussion about "hot" was interesting. I burst out laughing!

Hi Fumie, Tsuneko, and everyone,
As for summer time, it sounds nice to have the sunlight an hour longer in the evening, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not. It might be confusing to change our schedules.

>"Early to bed, early to rise, makes you healthy, wealthy and wise."

I think it's so true, but still, I prefer to sleep late. 笑

Have a good day!

Tomo

Hi Green

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get the Kobe ticket.
That's so sad.
And I'm really sad because I also didn't get any tickets!!
(応募する公演を絞るのではなかったと後悔です・・・。)

You are able to see his stage three times!I'm sure you'll have a lovely time:)
Please let me know about his stage!!

Hi tsuneko

I also think Green is a huge fun.I get a lot of information about him thanks to Green.
I'm so lucky:)
And thank you for telling your husband!
I also love not only Koichi but also other members.
'SHOCK' is great itself.

Hi Anne

I sometimes think I want to be in hibernation, too.
Then I feel my battery is very low,and I need to recharge.
So I relax with coffee and books dring my hibernation.
Coffee and books make me happy.
I hope your battery will recharge:)

Nao

Hi everyone,

How was your weekend? I just had a relaxing time and it was good.
By the way, I saw the news that about 8000 people were evacuated from the British Museum on 28th. It is said to be because of a 'gas' incident. Did anyone hear this news?

Hi Fumie and members,
I am an early bird, so there's no problem with me starting the day one hour earlier but it sounds confusing to set the summer time in Japan.

Hi Green,
'Only' three ? Not,"Oh I got that many tickets this time,'Three!'" It's just out of curiosity, but how many times do you usually see his concert on one tour? Anyway, you got three and lucky you!

Hi Nao,
Thanks for your words.
> Coffee and books make me happy→ Me too!

Hi Tomo,
> I burst out laughing!→I'm glad you liked it.

Today is Monday,August 30th. That means a lot of mother are looking forward to starting the new semester as Tomo mentioned.
I guess a lot of students are busy finishing up their homework and their parents might also be busy helping their children. I was also that type of child and when my sons were in elementary school, I was one of those mothers. Your children have already completed all the homework? That's great!
I hope mothers will have a bit more free time.
Anyway, even now I am not good at doing something well prepared,haha...いつも間際にバタバタ。。。

Bye for now,

PS, David, are you traveling around or just relaxing at your parents house?

Anne

What you have here it is a great article. But first of all I must say all every one. . After this I must say that I will post http://eng.alc.co.jp/kaiwa/davidbarker/2010/08/back_from_londo.html on my Hi5 profile. And this because at long last I found what I was looking for. What you post here is really respectable sharing. When I saw this tittle, デビッド・バーカーの英語と仲直りブログ:スペースアルク, in my google search I was very glad. Maybe I found something with the same ideea here http://www.xfly.ro, I'm not sure but I thing it was the same. All the best
