A Special Guest (2)
Thanks for all your comments and questions, and thanks to Dr KMI for helping us to understand the medical and ethical issues of organ donation. As I said, my driving licence doesn't have a box to check for organ donation, but I will have a look at my health insurance card later. It's pretty new, so I'm guessing that it will have the "I want to be a donor" option. If any parts of my body can live on after I die, I think that would be wonderful.
I have a million things to do today (I just spent two hours catching up on my ironing!), so I don't have time to do any feedback. Sorry about that, but I'm afraid it is just not possible for me to do it every week.
Have a great weekend, and see you again on Monday for a lighter topic (I promise!).

Hi David,
Thank you for giving us a chance to learn more about organ donation. Coincidentally I read an article about organ transplantation in today's newspaper(Asahi Shinbun). Thanks to Dr KMI's explanations, it was much easier to understand the content of the article and I felt close to it.
By the way, you did ironing for two hours!? That must have been quite a chore even though it was not so hot today compared with yesterday.
I'm afraid I'm accustomed to the temperature around 30℃.
Have a lovely weekend,everyone!

Hi David,
Thanks again. It’s a good opportunity to learn about organ donation.
Spent two hours for ironing? Poor you! I don’t like ironing in summer. (I guess nobody likes it.) Hope you can take some rest this weekend;)
Hi everyone,
I’ve got a bad headache since last night, so I took some painkillers but the pain hasn’t disappeared. I am going out on Sunday, so I hope it will be gone by then.
Have a great weekend,
amo

Hi David,
Thank you so much for giving us a chance to talk to a senior surgeon and to think about important matter: organ donation.
You don't need to say sorry about that you can't give us feedback. You are swamped with a million of things. I totally understand that.
Hello Dr. KMI,
Thank you again for joining us and spending your time for us. Thanks to your explanations, I learned some knowledge and procedure of organ donation.
BTW, your English is so excellent! So I also learned some English expressions and words from your comments.
Hi Animal Farm,
Thank you for taught us the rule of organ donation of US. That's what I wanted to know. So basically US take "opt-in" system.
Glad to hear that you had a great time at Rocky Mountain! I didn't know much about the mountain so I googled it. I saw some pictures of it. It's spectacular!
Hi amo,
Hope your pain will disappear soon.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Hi David and everyone
This is my comment for the first time in two weeks.
I have a lot of things to do recently ,so I’m afraid that I may not be able to make comments every week.
However, I read main parts in blogs every week.
As for organ donation, I know little about it.
Thanks to Dr KMI and David, I got a chance to consider about that.
I appreciate Dr KMI and David giving me a bit difficult topic.
I don’t know if I can make comments in this blog next week, but I try to read your entry in blogs.
Have a good weekend.
See you.

Dear Dr. KMI,
Thank you so much for sharing your time, knowledge, help, concise explanations, and consideration.
As you mentioned, organ donation is a very noble act, but the rate of people who carry a donor card is only 1.6% and is very low, in spite of the rate of people who are in favor of donation was 42%.
I hope the number of people who choose to become organ donors in Japan will increase soon.
I really appreciate you not only save many lives, but also many smiles. Thanks a million.
Please take care and have a wonderful weekend!
Hi David,
Please don't be sorry.
I guess you have been busy as a bee!
I appreciate your feedback always.
Hi Tsuneko,
Thanks for your message!
As I mentioned, so far insurance cards and driver's licenses are optional about organ donations in Japan.
I think most people don't realize insurance cards have the option for organ donation, so it doesn't mean they are careless.
You know, I dropped eggs in front of the supermarket where I had just bought them today!
I was careless (涙).
Hi Fumie,
Anytime!
Thanks for Googling about the Rockey mountains!
Actually, when I got to 14,110 feet (4,300 meters) in altitude, I felt dizzy and I had tunnel vision!
(視界が狭くなるを英語で,"トンネルビジョン"知らなかったっす)
The mountains are extremely huge!
Cars seemed like ants.....そして私はただの小さなカタマリ...
Hi everyone,
I was curious, if a person has two organ donor cards with opposite desires, then what happens?
The law was clear, but it seems it still takes time to help people if the family still is involved in the decision.

Anyway, I think the things that are happening in this world are relevant to our lives, so it was a great opportunity to talk with you! Thanks!
Oops, it's time to hit the hay! ...around 1am. Good night!

Hi Animal Farm and everyone,
Thank you for letting us know the links. Here are two parts I especially got interested in.
> 臓器を提供する場合、臓器提供適応基準では、おおよそ心臓50歳以下、肺70歳以下、腎臓70歳以下、膵臓60歳以下、小腸60歳以下が望ましいとされています。
The other day, my friends and I talked about organ donations, and then we were wondering whether or not our organs can be used. Answering Anne's question on the age limitation, Dr KMI mentioned that 60 is a rough guideline, although there may be a difference between someone's biological age and their chronological age. That's why the above detailed information is helpful to know each organ's limitation roughly.
Knowing this actual process was important for me to consider whether I should become a donor and which no. I should choose. Thank you.

Hi everyone,
How was your weekend? Hope you had a good one.
I mentioned that I went to see a musical the other day. All I want to do was to see my favourite singer, and of course he was great. Today, my sister and I went to his salon concert at a restaurant in Aoyama. We had lunch and after that we listened to his songs. It was fabulous. We were able to see him very close. I had a great time:)
Hi Fumie,
Thanks for your warm words.
Good night and sweet dreams,
amo

>Animal Farm, thanks for letting us know the website about organ transplantation.
By the way, you seem to be having a fabulous time in Rocky mountain! I'm happy for you.
>tsuneko, thanks for telling us more detailed information about organ transplantation.
Actually, I had a party with my classmates from the community college, and there were doctors among them. I talked about it with one of them.
Hi amo,
You went to the musical and then to the saloon concert again!? Lucky you:)
David, looking forward to your new entry:)
See you soon,

Hi Animal Farm,
Oh, you climbed up Rocky Mountain. 4,300 meters in altitude! No wonder you felt dizzy and had tunnel vision. How long did it take to climb the mountain?
Did you climb all the way from the bottom of the mountain?
Hi amo,
I'm glad to hear that you had a lovely time at the concert.

Hi David and everyone,
Thank you for giving us such a great opportunity to communicate with Dr KMI. I learned a lot of things from him and from everyone's questions and comments. That was more than enough. See you next week.
