会話例作りの実際（2011年度第４弾）
「即戦力がつくビジネス英会話」に出て来るフレーズを使っての会話例作り、今回のテーマは「相談と助言」で、この本で言うと Lesson 17 に当たります。
今回の「最優秀作品」の制作者は、法学部 3年の T. K. 君、Y. T. さん、同４年の S. H. さん、R. N. さんです。
通用力の高い言い回しを連ねて行くだけで、リアルな会話例ができるわけで、作った学生たちの英語力もさることながら、相手・状況・目的に応じて「どういう言い回しが使われているのか」を確かめてから、「ここではこれが使えるんじゃないか」と仮説を立て、その上で、会話例に組み込み、「座りのよさ」を見るというアプローチ (observe → hypothesize → experiment）の実効性も感じられることでしょう。
下線部は決まった言い回しであることを示しています。
A: Wiley, can I have your take on something? It's above and beyond my ability.
B: About what, may I ask?
A: It's about a project I'm working on.
B: Oh, the one you mentioned some time ago.
A: Right. It's about that project. The thing is, I'm of two minds about whether to choose Plan A or Plan B. And that's where I need your advice.
B: Hmm, what's the difference between the two plans.
A: The advantage of Plan A is cost, but the disadvantage is reliability. Plan B is just the opposite.
B: So?
A: What should I do?
B: Well, it could be an idea to contact the guys in Corporate Marketing. I'm sure they can give you a lot of relevant information. Not to worry at all.
A: Sounds like what I've been looking for. OK. Think I'm getting a better picture of what I'm supposed to do. I'm lucky to have a friend like you.
B: You can say that again.
